One Foot Taller is a product, furniture and interior design company, based in Glasgow, established in 1995.
We specialise in the design and supply of furniture and lighting, and employ UK manufacturers whenever possible. We often use new materials and processes as well as traditional ones, and are experienced in working with recycled and recyclable materials.
We also design on a consultancy basis for a range of companies and private clients, working on projects ranging from industrial products manufactured in high volumes, to sculptural pieces produced on a one-off or batch basis. As well as modelling our ideas through CAD and sketch models, we prototype and test designs out in full size when relevant.

Hope it’s been a good one for you.. it’s been exciting interesting funny and occasionally ridiculous for me. One Foot Taller has new products coming into stock, others in development for customers, and also some product and interior projects all getting a bit exciting for Spring.. -some porcelain lighting for Boloni; interior spaces with Timorous Beasties for Edinburgh Royal infirmary and some furniture for the West Lothian Youth Theatre at Howden Park. Got to let you know that stock products have gone up in price, -sorry! Manufacturing prices have gone up, -what can I say, it happens every year!
We’re experimenting with recycled material for the polyethylene lighting (always tricky with lighting) and proteins which help them biodegrade in landfill or compost if you feel like throwing them away (don’t), so they’re getting more interesting. Also the new stuff uses much less material and hardly any production energy (all quite low tech). Have a smashing January, and see as much of the sun as possible. Cheers, Katty.
